Beardadette and the Eternal Hiccup


A physic puzzle platformer, where you play a bearded dragon who has a case of incurable hiccups. Made for LD51 with Brainoid and Spacey3D.

This 2.5 platformer was brought to life again by charming character design by Spacey3d. With physics affected items and props in this platformer, it allowed for some physics based puzzles and some clever level design from Brainoid. The key mechanic of the game was every 10 seconds your character would hiccup. This was both a blessing and a curse, as it affected gameplay: if you were carrying an item you would drop it upon hiccup. Though, if you mid-air, the hiccup would serve as a double jump. When adding the ability to drink water to delay hiccups, we created one long level that challenged the player with platforming and puzzles.

The game was pretty solid overall, well polished for a jam and was relatively well received by players.
