Star Tech: Deep Space Mine

This game was based around an idea Brainoid had about having spinning discs, where adjacency bonuses was the aim of the game. We ended up fleshing it out so the player’s actions were represented by playing cards. The player was responsible for building different structures on their “space mining station”. Group buildings of the same category next to each other to gain bonus rewards. Satisfy requirements of building specific buildings adjacent to each other to gain rewards. This was made tricky however as then space station was made out of several rotating discs, all of which moved independently from one another. This meant the playing field was always shifted, so your previously perfect layout would be separated over time. Players could also try and plan ahead to maximise their bonus resources.
Overall this game lacked mass-appeal due to its being quite a niche type of strategy game. Player onboarding was a little rough which meant some players never really understood the right way to play the game. There were a few who really enjoyed it and spent a lot of time playing though.
