Freg, Fregg and Freggy: The Last Band

Join a party of three jazz loving frogs on their adventure to bring back light to the land of Pagona. Made for LD48 with Brainoid and Spacey3D.

Team Catfrog joined forces again, but this time combining both 2d and 3d! Spacey3d produced some wonderful 2D art that drove the narrative and gave life to the characters of the game. Several 3D environments were created too, where the main game took place. This was a chance for us to create a card based combat game, with a focus on surviving a series of smaller encounters in order to lure the regions boss. The game also introduced a concept of manipulating the path ahead of you.

The mechanics of altering your path and summoning the boss wasn’t the most intuitive for players, but it was great to explore some original game mechancis and create a game full of character.
